Get the most from selected Scriptures

Before reading these instructions, please understand there are TWO starting pages: Basic (free) lets you use it as a comprehensive Bible tool.  The second is an offer to become a Plus User at $4.17 per month - the Plus version is not required to use this website.  Scroll down until you see the offer of FREE access to BibleGateway.  Unfortunately they require your email address but in over 10 years of using this excellent software we have not been bothered with spam originating from them.

How to use this program:

Copy Scripture chapter and verse only to clipboard using Ctrl C
 Don't include translation, i.e., NIV.  You will confuse the program

Click Scripture Link - (icon is inactive)

Paste Scripture from clipboard using Ctrl V where it says, "Enter passage...."
Unfortunately Bible Gateway is a very popular source of Bible information and may have a "Wait" time

Enter Translation desired using dropdown menu for list of translations available
Default is NIV or last translation your computer used

Click on magnifier icon to proceed

To return to Devotionals, click on Back arrow.

Note: on most computers the Bible Gateway window will be in addition to your Devotionals screen - in this case, close the Bible Gateway window when finished.  If you don't, you will end up with beaucoup Bible Gateway windows open.

Bible Gateway is an evangelical Christian website that offers access to the Bible in many versions and translations.
Bible Gateway is not affiliated with any particular church or denomination, but its content and development are guided by Christian principles.

Accessing Bible Gateway will open a new window each time you click on (inactive).  When done, click on "Back" to return, use red, upper right "Close" icon or click on tab to return.   Remember, if you repeat opening Bible Gateway a NEW window will appear - you may end up with a whole bunch of inactive windows!

We suggest you spend some time exploring (inactive) as it
offers many interesting methods of learning more about scriptures. 

To repeat, there are 2 ways to access the Bible Gateway from this website:

1) When available, use Bible Gateway

2) If scripture is high-lighted and underlined (1 John 4:7-8) just click on link.

Website is not an official outreach of Asbury United Methodist Church.
All Devotionals are provided by Asbury by way of Lenten Booklets.

This is a private website that is a collection of devotionals published from 2014 to the present by Asbury United Methodist Church. 

In a 2016 church meeting, the design and hosting of the 2016 Advent devotions website was accepted on a no cost basis to the church.  Since then, yearly Advent and Lent devotionals plus "Connection" and related websites, such as this one, have been made available in the same spirit.

This particular website is a collection of devotionals from Advent 2014 to the present and includes all Advent, Lent and "Connection Series" devotionals published.  Excluded are 15 devotionals with copyright issues that are temporarily "hidden", pending clarification.

  The users are free to reference this website at their discretion.  The WebMaster is sensitive to the wishes of the church and will continue to host them in a proper and timely manner.
