Scripture: John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,"

Message: One of the best parts of my day is my morning quiet time with God. Several years ago, during the Advent season, I was enjoying this quiet time and reading Asbury's Advent Devotional booklet. I noticed the date (December 24), and my mind suddenly went back over 2,000 years to "The Night Before Christmas" in heaven.

What was it like knowing that Jesus was about to go to Earth as a baby? What were the emotions, knowing that the Father and the Son were about to be separated'? I low did the angels feel? They had already been involved through their ministry to Mary, Joseph, Zacharias, and Elizabeth. Other angels were preparing to appear to the shepherds very soon.

In that moment, I realized that my heavenly Father experienced an amazing sacrifice for me a sinner. I had a new and wonderful insight of His great love.

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for Your love; Your sacrifice; my salvation; Your patience, and constant care. Amen.
