50th
Reunion |
September
2008: Kay and I visited Susie and
Ben on September 2nd at their home. Ben
was doing well. His home is the beautiful
ex-administration office for the Health Care facility Ben
and Susie ran for many years. Then the state
required more modern updates than Ben could provide
so he closed it down and turned it into a lovely
subdivision.
Their 5 kids all
sound phenomenal and are spread as far away as
Rio de Janeiro. -
Bill
June 2008:
Bob
spoke with Ben. He and Susie have been at
the same address for over 40 years. He sounds rather
different, but remembered me right away. He said that
he is housebound. I asked him if there was any
possibility that he could come and he said that he couldn't
walk. |

We moved
back to Pennsylvania in the early part of 2009. We are still getting along
pretty well at our new address which is a continuing care community called
Shannondell in Audubon, PA. Fortunately we are still able to reside in the
Independent Living section and enjoy the area with several children and
grandchildren near by. Hope you all are doing well and that I will be
hearing something from you re Mt L HS in the future. Lot's of snow around
here now, just like the old days in Pgh. - Ray - February 2010
On Tuesday, May 19th we begin a household
move from our Virginia home to a retirement community named Shannondell
located Audubon, PA (Adjacent to Valley Forge). As of the 21st our new
address will be 23622 Shannondell Dr, Audubon, PA, 19403 with phone number
of 610 382-2180. Our e-mail address will change also. - Come see us.
Ray - May 2009
May
2007: Thanks for asking. We are very much enjoying the greatly
increased contacts with our five children and their families since we moved
to Virginia. We have our typical old age pains but so far nothing bad. Try
to keep physically active. Hope all is well with you and your family.
Really looking forward to the 60th. Ray
January 2007:
Just for the record I thought I might update
my place on the web site. After ten years in lovely Savannah, Georgia,
Nancy and I moved north to Williamsburg, Virginia. So we will try for
ten more here in Fords Colony. We decided to get more centered among our
five children who are spread from Albany, NY down to Henagar, AL. All of
them can make it to the colony with a one day drive now . Played golf with
Bud Keen (Virginia Beach) in Williamsburg
before Christmas so that is another benefit of the move.
We
had all of the extended family at Thanksgiving except one daughter, her
spouse and one grandchild due to an illness in the in-law family. Those
present are in the picture (Click image to enlarge).
If you see the old man in the back row right, that is me. To my right is
son Chris, daughter Sharon, daughter Kate and son
John. Missing is oldest daughter Debbie and family. Crouching
in front left is my wonderful bride of almost 52 years, Nancy (McGhee),class
of '49. In the background is our "new to us" home. We are both a little
achey but active and enjoying the historic triangle of Williamsburg,
Jamestown, and Yorktown. You probably know that the first English
settlement of Jamestown was begun 400 years ago in 1607 so there are many
special events planned including a visit by "The Queen".
We are looking forward
to the next reunion. WHEN IS IT?
December 2004: Nancy and I
are still out here even though we missed the last reunion. We are
still enjoying Savannah and had a great get together with all 18 family
members (7 grandchildren) in NYC at Thanksgiving. We will have a quiet
but happy Christmas. We wish you very much the same. Merry
CHRISTmas. Boy that glacier looks cold (He's referring to the picture
of Kay &
Bill Erdman in Alaska).

doesn't have a home PC so there is no email between us. I'm not sure if
he's ever seen our website. Don moved to Mt. Lebanon (Sunset Hills)
from Wilkensburg during our senior year, hence no photo in the Log. He
went to Virginia Tech for two years and while there met Mary Lou and
got married. He ended up finishing at Pitt. He and Mary Lou have
3 children, a son and 2 daughters. In 1966, when I moved back to Upper St.
Clair, he lived 2 doors away. He worked on our 20 and 25 th reunion
committees. He's had a long career in the heating and air conditioning
business and is still working. He and Mary Lou plan to attend the
reunion so if you talk to him maybe he can give you some "hot current" info.

60th Reunion. We can’t possibly be that
old! I do not know yet whether I will be able to attend.
To bring you up to date,
my husband died suddenly twelve years ago while sitting in
next to me in a movie theater. In late January 2008 I
decided it was time to move to a smaller place so I put my
home of 38 years on the market . Much to my amazement it
sold quickly and I bought a condo one and a half miles from
my daughter.
I have been blessed with
good health and keep active walking, sports, traveling,
etc. I have seven grandchildren (6 boys, 1 girl) ranging in
age from 23 to 4 and they are the love of my life.
It has been great to
read about the members of our class on the website.

February 2007 - Several updates:
Bob Alderdice: I ran into
him at Western Electric Cafeteria in New York City in early 1965. He was a
lawyer and had been a partner in a Cleveland firm but had to give it up
because of too much stress. He had taken a job with ATT in the legal
dept. He was handling easements and rights of way in the city. We met
several times over the next few months. When I hadn't heard from him
for several weeks, I called his office and got the news that he had died.
Whoever I talked to didn't know anything about him or wouldn't give me any
more info.
John Millington: He was
best man at my wedding in June 1954 at Arlington VA. He joined the army
shortly after graduation and was a radio operator. He spent a lot of
time at Ft Knox and then in the Pacific. Returning he went to Pitt and got
a degree in Transportation. He lived in Fairfax, VA. for several years.
We exchanged Christmas cards and one year mine was returned as "unknown" I
believe his brother Andy still lives in Mt L on Ashland Ave.-or used
to.
I'm
looking forward to 2008. ROY
June 2006 -
Just a note
to let you know I'm still kicking. Last Mar I spent a week working for
HomeWorks in Covington La HomeWorks is a charitable org that repairs
homes of the elderly with limited resources. Katrina had done a job on this
town too. In early June we went to Boone NC area also. We had a lot of
teenagers doing the work but they needed instruction and supervision. We
had a lot of fun.
ROY McEWEN
December 2005 - A Merry
Christmas to you and yours. There isn't much of anything new with me.
Getting ready for Christmas and trying to keep warm. We've been to Myrtle
Beach several times in the last two weeks getting our Condo ready for the
next years rentals. Some of my cousins are thinking of meeting in Pgh next
summer. We've been actively building a family tree. We've gotten back to
1730. So far we have over 900 names in ten generations. The eleventh
generations will soon be here. Not my family though. My grandchildren are
16, 6 and 3 and they live in French Guiana South America. I haven't
visited them for four years so maybe next spring. It's over 3000 mi and
takes two days. It can be quite an ordeal. Air France folks won't admit to
knowing any English and its not easy to communicate. ROY
Just to clarify one point! The French
pretend they don't know English just to show up the Americans. They know
exactly what you are saying. As you know the French are the superior to
every one else. ROY.

Hope your trip was a fun and exciting one.
Enclosed is the
1948 booklet
I mentioned.
Best wishes, Marty
December 2006 (From Hudson Monthly) -
|
If you could go
anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Obviously to Belgium. I would like to go back for one more visit.
Where is the best
place to clear your head?
Singing Sunday morning in the church choir (at the First
Congregational Church.) It is inspirational and calming.

I'm a Steelers fan. |
Who was your
favorite teacher?
Dr. Nelson Mills, my journalism and drama coach at Mt.
Lebanon High School.
What is the last
movie you saw?
With the move, we haven't seen a movie in six months. There have
been several we wanted to see.
What is the last
book you read?
I’m in the midst of reading “For One More Day,” by Mitch Albom. |
Catching up with … Marty
Hills
Marty Hills
loves Hudson.
That fact is evident the
minute a visitor walks into the Hudson Commons Drive condo she shares with
her husband Bob.
Paintings and mementos of
the town fill the walls.
"We just moved in a month
ago," she says.
While the condo is new to
them, the Hills actually have called Hudson home for 44 years, the same
amount of time they have been married.
It's a second marriage for
both; Marty had been living in Silver Lake with her two sons and
daughter, and Bob was living in Akron with his three sons when they
met.
"I was in a theater
production in Silver Lake," she says . "A friend brought him to the cast
party and we met there."
Marty says
that after they married, they wanted to find a community where they could
raise their family.
"We just love it," Marty
says of Hudson.
The Hills embraced
the town.
Marty served
on the Hudson School Board and was able to give her daughter her diploma at
graduation.
She also represented Ward I
on City Council for three years and in 2005 she was chosen as the Chamber of
Commerce's Citizen of the Year.
Marty admits
the city has changed over the years.
"When we walked down Main
Street, we used to know everyone," she says. "I don't know everyone now.
There were 5,000 residents when we moved here. Today there are 23,500."
One of Marty’s
favorite projects is her work with the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation.
She said she read about the
foundation in 1995 in a newspaper or magazine article.
"My parents always taught
me that's the way to do it," she says. "I called the foundation and said
'we have a wonderful town."'
She has chaired the Random
Acts of Kindness week in Hudson ever since.
"I hear about random acts
of kindness throughout the year," she says. "People will call and say, 'I
had to call and let you know I did a random act of kindness or someone did
one for me. It feels so good."'
Hills herself
was the recipient of a random act of kindness. That act has been included
in a book, "Christian Acts of Kindness," published by the Random Acts of
Kindness Foundation.
According to the book,
Hills' brother was a P-47 pilot in World War II. He was shot down over
Germany in 1945 and it was four years before her family found him.
Her brother's grave was
found in 1949.
"In an unbelievable act of
kindness (in wartime no less), someone had buried him with his ID tags," she
writes in the book.
Hills' family
buried him in the American Military Cemetery near Liege, Belgium, with more
than 5,000 other American servicemen.
Hills, who
had visited the site several times, traveled there with her husband for a
50th anniversary service at the cemetery.
While she was at her
brother's grave, a Belgian woman came up and thanked her for the sacrifice
her family made for the woman's country. The woman then said she belonged
to a group of Belgian citizens who come to the cemetery once a month to
offer prayers and asked to adopt Hills' brother. She said she would
come monthly to pray for him and Hills.
While Hills said she
never found out the woman's name, she will never forget her.
‑ Stephanie Fellenstein
"Not-so-Random
act of kindness"
from Hudson HUB-TIMES, February 23, 2005
Former Council member named Chamber's Citizen of the Year
by Ronnica Dull, Reporter
HUDSON - One of the many organizations Martha "Marty"
Hills volunteers for is the Random Acts of Kindness Committee.
So it's fitting that Hills, 74, was told on
Valentine's Day - the first day in a weeklong celebration of Random Acts of
Kindness - she was chosen as the Chamber of Commerce's 2005 Citizen of the
Year winner.
"I'm overwhelmed, honored and humbled to be receiving this
award," she said. " There are so many well-deserving citizens in the city
who could have won this award."
The Chamber will present Hills with the award March
3 at Waters Restaurant
Carolyn Konefal, executive director of the Chamber of
Commerce, said Hills received three separate nominations - a lot for
one person.
"This is a long overdue acknowledgement of her services
and dedication to the community," Konefal said.
Sharon Lowe-Blackford of Cuyahoga Falls, retired
supervisor of Hudson schools' buildings and grounds department and a member
of the Hudson Rotary Club, was one of three people to nominate Hills
for the award.
"She is a brilliant and kind .individual and a very classy
lady," Lowe-Blackford said, adding that she has always admired Hills
for her extensive involvement in activities around Hudson.
Hudsonite Paul Bodden also nominated Hills.
"She exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism which pervades our community and
is one of its notable strengths," Bodden said. "Most notably, she has
been unafraid to engage openly in public discussion and to run for public
office in contested elections. She puts herself on the line, stands up
in the open and is heard."
Hills, a 42-year Hudson resident, said she learned
to value community involvement from her parents, Edythe and Walter
McVay of Mount Lebanon, Pa.
I have always followed my father's advice, which is, "We
were not put on this earth to occupy space, but to leave it a better place
for having been here," Hills said. "It was his badge of honor
and he wanted me to make it come true."
Not only is Hills involved with the Random Acts of
Kindness committee, she also is a founding member of Hudson Chapter of the
Daughters of the American Revolution; Hills' ancestors date back to
pre-Revolutionary War.
She is a member of the Akron Chapter of the Daughters of
the American Colonist and a member of the National Huguenots Society.
A member of the First Congregational Church since 1963,
Hills has been singing in its choir since 1968. She also was the
church moderator for one term and as a minister in the Stephen Ministry
program, which provides a listening ear to parishioners during difficult
times.
She has been a member of the David Hudson Chapter of
Questers since 1974.
Since 1987, she also has been a member of the national
Sisterhood P.E.O., which promotes educational opportunities for women.
Hills was a teacher's aide at Evamere Elementary
School from 1967 to 1974. From 1974 to 1981, she served as a
member of the School Board. She was president of the School Board from
1980 to 1981. She also was a member of the Hudson Schools' Endowment
11 Board from 1991 to 2000.
From 1991 to 1994, Hills was on the city of
Hudson's Merger Commission.
Hills also was co-chair of the 1999 Hudson
Bicentennial Committee and a member of the Hudson Chapter of the U.S.
Bicentennial Celebration in 1976.
From 2000 to 2003, Hills was a member of City
council. She is currently serving on the city's Charter Review
Commission.
Hills and her husband, Bob, have lived in
Hudson for 42 years and have six children.
The Chamber's Citizen of the Year honor is awarded to
someone who performs a service or an act for the community above and beyond
daily activities to make Hudson a better place to live, Konefal said.

today
(2001) |
Bob,
In reply to your May 9 letter, my email address has
changed. Phone is 410 990 0823. Good to hear from you, and
thanks for yours and
Bill’s
website efforts. Not many, if any, other high school
classes are so lucky. Joe – June 14, 2009
Thanks for
all your efforts
Bill
. Have been in Spain for a few months. Wish I could be at
the reunion. I might even have made it this time if I were
closer.
Joe Miller
– August 2008
February 2008: Still working on
financial ventures. I am about to set up an "incubator" account with an
organization which will monitor it and present it to the world if
results are good. My track record is good so far, but they need to
have tight control on what I am doing. For instance one trick is to
establish several accounts, using a different strategy in each, and then
presenting the best performer as a track record. It is as much a hobby
as a serious effort.
I am really going to try to make it to the
August '08 reunion, even though I never really knew any of the 30 or so
"definites". I do remember all of them well though.
I probably won't, of course, but I may just show up at the reunion - I
really want to. - Joe
September 2005 - Hi
Bill, In reply to your
"recent" (December, 2004) email in which you asked "how goes the battle"
- As the smoke clears I'm still standing and in good health. Life don't
get much better than that.
My investment program is a
lot of fun and keeps me very busy. So far it has performed well. The fund
is currently 'for family and friends' and is limited by law to the
15 current accounts. I plan to establish a public hedge fund within a year
or two. I am teaching the kids how to operate it in case I buy the farm
first and they want to continue with it. I am trading only in the
Eurodollar / U.S. dollar currency pair - because of it's super high volume
and therefore good trade executions. Sounds risky but it can be done
conservatively by using very little of the available leverage - meaning
only a small percentage of the capital is invested.
Spoke with
Art Mensing
(Deceased) a
few months ago. He said
Bill (Henry) Kurtz
(Deceased) said
Bob had recently died (in
Florida).
Bob Hogan
was a good friend in junior and senior high school.
Joe Miller
Also
in September - I am forwarding an email received from my brother in
Lakeland, Fla. Kaufmann's clock and building haven't changed
in 65-plus, years.
Speaking of nostalgia - I just scrolled thru the "Gone
but"
page. My reaction was similar to yours. A very heavy bitter-sweet
emotional experience. Thanks again for the web page.

- Hi
Bill, thought you might like to see this
picture that was taken in October at
Suzanne
Divine Williams' place. The lake in the background is right behind
her daughter's house, and the good looking group are from left:
Jeanne Vayda McCallum,
Ann Bowman McClymonds,
Mitzi Fantl Murphy,
Nancy Godden, Anne Mosites Miller,
Suzanne Divine Williams, and
Ann Pritchard Evanson. I took the
picture. We had a wonderful 4 days together in the New Jersey, Philadelphia
area. (Click on image to enlarge)
October 2005:
The first week of September the annual "DBC"
reunion was held at my home in Lake Barrington, IL, a suburb of Chicago. It
was five days of talking and eating. We spent two days in Chicago seeing
the sights including the new Millennium Park (which is great fun and like no
other park), the Architectural Boat Tour on the Chicago River (a must do)
and a night on the town. We told everyone that would listen who we were and
that we had graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1948. We hope "they"
were impressed!
This picture was taken after a long day of touring and shopping so we're
a little worse for the wear. Not bad, considering! Seated: (L to R)

60th Reunion
June 2008:
Well, I don't have any pictures and don't know how to send
them, so I'll just give you information. I graduated from PCW (now Chatham University) with a major in French in 1952,
and went to work for NSA in Washington D.C. I married
Bela
Karlovitz in 1953 while he was attending Georgetown
Law School. He was drafted into the army and sent to
Frankfurt, Germany. I had my oldest daughter, Katie,
while he was there, and joined him five months later. We
moved to Heidelberg and my son, Mark, was born there
in a former German army barracks turned U.S. Army hospital.
After arriving back in Pittsburgh,
Bela
practiced law and I had babies.
We were
divorced in 1989, and I graduated from St. Francis School of
Nursing in 1989. I worked at Shadyside Hospital for two
years, then became a traveling nurse and finally settled
permanently in Vero Beach, where I worked at the local
hospital till 1970!
I'll see if
I can scrounge up some pics.
Adele
June 2008: Talked with Adele
on the phone. She sounds super - a woman after our own
hearts. She likes to camp, ride bikes, travel & has
loads of grandchildren. Hope she stops by in Orlando
to see Kay and me. She promised to send much
more news.

great grandsons with another great grandchild on the way.
After moving from Pittsburgh to Ohio in 1994, I
returned to college and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Sociology. I worked as a Social Worker at the Akron Children’s
Services Board in Family Counseling for many years before retiring
in 1994. After retiring, my husband John
and I bought a condo in Margate, Florida, where we enjoyed many
winters until his death in 2004. After that, I decided to sell
the property and now visit my daughter and husband in Vero Beach,
Florida, where they spend the winters in their home.
I have been blessed with good health and family and
am currently involved in church activities and love it. I am looking
forward to attending our 60th class reunion and renewing old
friendships.
Thanks to all of the staff who have worked so hard in
keeping up with this website. I have enjoyed many hour’s
reading updates on our classmates.
June 2008:
Kathy Mullen Kirby had married Bob Griffith,
Jim Griffith's brother. He was killed in an auto
accident shortly after they were married. She later married
John Kirby
who has since died. She lives in Copley Ohio, about 2 hours
from Pittsburgh. -

Hi
Bill - I did not realize
that my last news was from 2005. The time goes fast when
you're having fun. There is really not much news to get
excited about. We still spend about 3 months in Savannah,
Ga. in the winter, and then back here in Pittsburgh the rest
of the time. We haven't been on any great trips for awhile
- the last one was in 2006 when we visited Nova Scotia and
the Canadian provinces. That was a great trip!
We went to
Florida for a few days last winter to visit son#1 who had
moved from Kentucky to Bradenton, Fl. and we had a great
time there. Seems like flying is such a pain anymore, and
it's too expensive to drive any great distance. I hope
that one of these days we'll go take a river cruise in
Europe, but that's not in the current scheduling.
Our 16th
grandchild, Zach, was born in 2005, and he's now a
sturdy little 3 year old with a 4 year old sister, who we
see often because they live only a mile away. The oldest
grandchildren are in their 20's and we will be going to our
first grandchild wedding next year when our granddaughter
Katie gets married. The balance of the grandkids are in
their teens or almost teens, and everyone has so many
activities, that it's hard to keep up with them. We try to
go to baseball games, plays, and other functions as much as
we can, but we can't do them all.
Our health
- both Bob's and mine, is pretty good, considering
Bob has diabetes, and has had 2 strokes. He works in
the yard every day, and keeps me going. I play golf once a
week - just 9 holes, and I love that
We are
looking forward to the reunion. I'm having,
Suzanne Divine Williams,
Ann Bowman McClymonds, and
Nancy Godden stay here
with us, and I'm sure we'll have wonderful gab-fest. Hope
to see you there in August.
Thanks for
giving me the title of "Sister Sleuth" - but I only tracked
down 1 person, so the title should to to
Tom - "Brother
Sleuth". See you soon, Mary – July 2008
Letter from
Mary Murrie Hardy,
January 7th, 2007:
Dear
Bill, Just wanted to let you know that
Sally (Fellows) O'Conner
died today after suffering a massive heart attack on New Years day. She
never was conscious, and was in a coma for 4 days. She was always the
happiest person and it was a pleasure to be around her.
We had
a lunch on December 23rd of a few of the class of 48, and I sat next to her,
and we had such a nice time chatting. There were about 12 or so at the
lunch, Bob Ott,
Ray
Ferraro,
Buddy Stevenson with
Eileen, Bob Woeber with Margy,
Bros and Peggy
Richardson,
Anne Mosites Miller, Chuck Hibler, and
Sally and Buck along with Bob and myself. I don't have
details of the funeral yet. Maybe you'll hear from some others, but thought
I'd send along the word. Mary
December 2005 - Hi
Bill - Loved your card - such a clever way to
show off your beautiful family. The Hardy's are fine with just a few of
the old age problems. We are going to go to lunch on the 23rd of December
with a few of the class members. Buddy
and Eileen
Stevenson, Peggy and
Skip Richardson,
Sally Fellows
O'Conner and
Bucky,
Bob Ott, and I'm not sure who else. Ought
to be fun!
Sad news just received a couple days ago. Ann
Bowman McClymonds husband, Bob, died suddenly on November
18. He was a wonderful guy - everyone liked him so much. I saw
Ann
in October in Chicago when our gang of
girls had our annual reunion at
Pritch's
house. He was in good health then, but had to have a bypass so they
decided to do it before Thanksgiving, because they knew it was a thing they
had to do sooner or later. Apparently, he came through it fine, and went
home, only to have complications with very low blood pressure. He was back
in the hospital having that taken care of when he collapsed and died. Ann
and Bob lived (she is there) in Seven Lakes, North Carolina. - a
golfing community near Pinehurst.
We are going to be with all our family next
weekend, but not everyone for Christmas. We are 32 now with 7 kids, 7
outlaw kids, and 16 grandchildren - 10 boys and 6 girls. The grandchildren
ages range from 23 years to 10 months, so you can imagine how loud it gets
when we are all together.
Keep in touch - I love looking through the
class news and you do a great job! Thanks, Mary
October 2005: The first week of September the annual "DBC"
reunion was held at my home in Lake Barrington, IL, a suburb of Chicago. It
was five days of talking and eating.

The
above picture was taken after a long day of touring and shopping so we're
a little worse for the wear. Not bad, considering! Seated: (L to R)

August
2003: Hey,
Bill
-
Sorry
we
won't
see
you
at
the
reunion
-
hope
you're
doing
well
now.
Since I keep getting email from the you to bring things up to
date before next Friday, I thought I'd better get this sent,
or the email Nazi will surely be on my back.
We
don't
have
much
to
report
-
a
new
grandchild
on
the
way
(due
in
November)
and
that
will
make
15.
This
one
is
a
girl,
and
that
will
help
to
even
the
count
although
the
boys
still
lead
-
9
boys
and
soon
6
girls.
Our
oldest
grandson
is
a
senior
at
W.
&
J.
college
in
Washington,
Pa.
and
plays
on
the
football
team.
The
next
one
will
be
a
junior
at
Penn
State.
Then
we
have
one
girl
who
will
be
a
senior
in
high
school
this
year.
The
rest
of
them
are
still
little
-
the
oldest
of
the
young
group
is
11.
Our
granddaughter
in
high
school
(Katie)
is
quite
a
good
golfer
and
plays
on
some
of
the
eastern
U.
S.
junior
tours.
She
is
hoping
for
a
golf
scholarship
for
college.
We
try
to
follow
her
on
some
of
her
tours
-
it
is
more
fun
than
trying
to
play
ourselves.
Bob
had
a
stroke
last
summer,
but
is
doing
well
now
and
we
are
spending
a
lot
of
time
trying
to
keep
up
with
the
weeds
in
the
garden.
Unfortunately,
the
weeds
seem
to
be
winning.
It
will
be
great
to
see
all
those
who
are
coming
to
the
reunion.
Hi
to
all
those
who
don't
make
it.
Mary
June,
2001:
Sorry
you
had
to
call
Bob
Woeber
about
my
email
address
-
I
changed
in
May
to
aol.
He
called
me
to
remind
me
of
the
'48
web
site.
I
love
looking
at
all
the
notes
from
everyone.
Bob
and
I
spent
the
winter
in
Savannah
(Skidaway
Island)
and
came
back
to
Pittsburgh
in
April.
All
our
children
are
now
married
-
with
our
youngest
son
tying
the
knot
on
Dec.
30,
2000.
Our
family
now
numbers
30
with
the
addition
of
our
new
daughter-in-law
Heather.
Our
second
grandson
just
graduated
from
high
school
and
is
headed
to
Penn
State
next
week
-
He
starts
in
the
summer
session.
We
are
both
well,
and
hope
that
you
are
also
-
Hi
everyone!! Mary |

Mary's Biography
My
activities
since
high
school
consist
of
a
long
list
of
things
that
Mothers
do
when
they
raise
a
large
family.
I
graduated
from
Hood
College
and
worked
for
U.
S.
Steel
for
a
few
years
and
then
we
started
our
family
in
1955.
Between
1955
and
1973
we
had
7
children
-
4
girls
and
3
boys.
Not
too
bad
for
an
only
child.
Bob
worked
in
the
lumber
business
(
84
LUMBER)
and
had
fun
driving
harness
horses
at
the
county
fairs.
We
lived
in
Scott
Twp.
for
the
first
few
years,
but
since
1964
we
have
lived
in
Upper
St.
Clair.
We
are
golfers,
and
I
have
sung
in
the
church
choir
for
20
years,
and
that
gives
me
a
lot
of
pleasure.
We
work
in
our
garden
a
lot,
and
enjoy
doing
that.
The
children
have
given
us
13
grandchildren
and
another
one
on
the
way!
All
my
boys
live
out
of
state
-
one
in
Columbus,
Ohio
and
one
in
Lexington,
Ky.
and
the
youngest
(
the
only
one
not
married)
lives
in
San
Diego.
The
girls
all
live
either
in
Upper
St.
Clair,
or
Mt.
Lebanon,
so
we
are
very
lucky
to
be
able
to
see
9
of
the
grandchildren
a
lot.
Bob
and
I
have
taken
some
wonderful
trips
-
a
few
cruises
and
I
really
love
to
go
on
cruises!
Other
than
that,
my
life
as
an
Upper
St.
Clair
housewife
isn't
too
exiting
-
but
it
suits
me
just
fine!
And
that's
what
I've
done
for
the
past
50
years. |
