June 2008: Jane Schwartz married Willard Cook and in 1973 they were in W. Simsbury, CT. On Jane's webpage, there is a photo of her, Willard and children Paul and Kari. On People Search I find Jane S. Cook, age 77, with addresses in W. Simsbury, E. Hartford, Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra,FL. but nothing comes up on them in these addresses in phone search. It also shows her with relatives Paul and Kari. I then put in Kari and she comes up as married Kari Ancelin and has addresses in Ponte Vedra, Jacksonville, and St. Johns and last one yields a phone number. Andre is 45 and Kari is 47 and I say this is Jane Schwartz Cook's daughter. St. Johns is a suburb of Jacksonville. - Tom

SMITH H-Y, Honor Roll, Home Room Basketball, P.A. CoChairman The reason that I haven't sent you any news about me is that there just isn't much happening. I just keep getting older and there really isn't much excitement around here. My wife and I are still running our B & B and probably will for as long as we can. We get to meet really interesting people to add spice to our lives, and get paid for it to boot, as they say. Have thought of selling our house and moving to something smaller, but who can sell a house these days. Our glorious leader (the anointed one) has seen to that. So we just sit and have a good time. Our health has been pretty good, and the kids and grandkids are doing well. Still have just two great-grandkids who are growing like weeds and will soon be big enough to pick me up. Also, our little dog Buster is doing OK - he's five this year, and it's like having a kid again. Have a granddaughter's wedding coming up next summer, so that gives us something to look forward to. My best to all the other classmates, and I'll check back in if anything happens. As for the 65th, I just don't make plans that far in advance any more. (Don't buy green bananas, as they say). Maybe I'll come in one of those motorized chairs that you see advertised on TV.(It didn't cost me one cent as they say.) (Well, buddy, I paid for it in my Medicare) That's all I can think of now - will send more if anything happens. Dave Smith – October 2010 I am doing OK - as good as you can when you're old - The only updates I have is that the grandchildren are graduating and we are expected to attend all the ceremonies. Every year it seems there is another one. Dave Smith – May 2009
May 2007: I agree the Reunion should be at a less formal place than the 50th. Somewhere where there is easy parking and few steps to climb, as steps and I don't get along very well any more. As of now I will attend if my health holds out. Dave February 2007 - I was sorry to hear of Jenny Schwartz's passing. I remember her as a very nice girl (and pretty too). I believe she used to run around in a ford convertible (her mother's car). If I remember right after all these years, she was my date for the senior prom. That was the one and only time I ever went out with her. I read her obituary and it said she died in a nursing home. Apparently she had no children. David Smith

I' m sure it has not been an unusual life. Rather typical I imagine for a lot of people in our class.. but as in any human life .. there have been interesting parts of happiness and sadness.. just can't believe its been 51 years.. seems like 10. Band Drum Captain, Hi-Y, Orchestra August 2010: Bill, I just learned that Al Paulus' wife, Lois, passed away on 7/25/10. I need his mailing address should you have it. Thanks for the help. Al an I were hi school and college buddies. Nothing new here, just wasting away doing nothing. I gave up driving a few months back, now I'm really bored. Bob – August 2010 February 2008: I have relocated to Greenwood, South Carolina February 2005: A lot has happened since I last sent in an update. My wife, June, had a terrible period from '02 thru '04 with congestive heart failure ('02) and breast cancer ('04). But thanks to the good Lord, she has become "Cancer Free" and her heart has been stabilized with a pacemaker / defibrillator. She is now back on the golf course whipping my fanny and enjoying every minute. My lovely wife did a number on me. Our neighbors joined us for dinner at a local restaurant one evening, as we entered the dinning room there stood my three sons (sounds like a good show for TV) David and Jeff (Pittsburgh) and Todd (Millers, Maryland) along with their spouses, plus my daughter Barbara and her spouse, Mike, from Phoenix, AZ. Needless to say I was speechless and a quite tearful. The kids arrived on a Monday and my birthday was on the following Thursday, the 13th of January. I was informed that we were going to celebrate the entire week and we did! That is one birthday I shall never forget - #75. I will be traveling to China in May for two weeks with my good buddy and next door neighbor, Al Rogers. Then in August, my son David and grandson Jason will be traveling to Italy in search of our "roots". June does not like to travel, especially by air, so when the opportunities came up and my neighbors promised to keep an eye on June while I'm away, I jumped at the chances. I knew I was getting older when I realized my son David had turned 50 and is also a grandfather which, makes me "Great". The tally now is 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Well it's getting close to libation time, so my wishes to all for a very healthy new year. Bob March 2004: I was going through some old photos the other day when I came a cross six pix that I took at an MTL football game either in '47 or '48. They are, unfortunately, rolled up. I believe they could be copied with a scanner then, if you wish, put on the MTL web site.
They are pix of a game (someone scoring a TD), cheerleaders, etc.

Recognize anyone? Bob. April 2002: Our valentines day was not one of joy. My wife, June, suffered congestive heart failure. She's on the road to recovery. Her heart was damaged by, of all things, a virus??? She goes to physical therapy three times a week. The process is slow, but best of all, she's still with us - Thank you Lord! June is not out of the woods yet. If the therapy and medication don't work, we are looking at a heart transplant. Your prayers will be greatly appreciated. Our 12 month old lab, Charlie, actually saved her life by awakening me at 1AM with a loud bark in my ear. June had been walking around the house thinking whatever her problem was would go away. She told me Charlie followed her everywhere. When she sat, Charlie would place his head on her lap. Around 1AM, he must have felt it was time I got involved. I called 911. The next day, June's cardiologist told us had we been another 20 - 30 minutes later getting to the hospital, she would have been gone. So, we have a hero in Charlie. When the neighbors walk by the house or come to visit they make sure to bring Charlie a cookie. Bob

From Marty McVay, November 2010 - Bob & I had a reunion lunch in Mt. Lebanon with Nancy Staggs Toler and Dick in October. Fun to get together and recall happy times! - Marty August 2007 - Dear Bill, I visited our website for the first time and it is GREAT. What really got to me was the obituary section - How could we have lost all those people? We all have lots of new friends, but there's nothing like the high school friends. We can meet somewhere, after years apart, and talk like it was yesterday. When I saw Joanie Dunbar's empty death notice, I decided I had to fill it in. I'll tell you what I remember, and if I find the obituary the kids sent me I'll send dates later. I tried to e-mail it but being a novice I think you only got part of it, so back to the word processor and regular mail. I'll see you next year, God willing. Nancy Staggs Toler
Football Manager Hi everyone. Besides medical news, not much to add. All the local Dr.s and nurses know me by my first name. I had to give up golf. I was an embarrassment to myself, all alone on the course. Wasn't going to decorate for Christmas, this year. My son Tom heard this. The other nite, there was a knock on the door, and there he was with a fully decorated tree (lights and all), ready to be placed in our house. I still enjoy bowling and do it three times a week. I've won three senior titles and one USBC tournament (combine title). Have added two great-grandchildren since last update. Patty and I keep busy with church activities, and spend a lot of time with the grand kids. My next update will have pictures. Bill Stanley - December 2011 August 2010: Hi Bill, Bob and the rest of you who read this. Things have been rather uneventful since the 60th reunion. Patty and I don't travel anymore. So, she keeps, or tries to keep me busy with odd chores. It is good that she does this. It helps keeping me in shape. My golf game is so bad that I plan to give it up completely. Bowling is my favorite pastime now, although I don't make as much money on side bets now (still carry 200 avg.). Had a touch of sciatica this past winter. The Doctor took care of that with steroids, but now have a permanent ache in my right lower back. Other than bowling and chores, we spend a lot of time spoiling the grand kids. The youngest is three, a good age to spoil. They have built a lot of trails for walking and biking in our area, Bill. They have something called the "Seaway Trail", along Lake Erie, the Niagara River to lake Ontario and beyond. Best to all, Bill Stanley
Thanks. August 2008: Kay and Bill Erdman spent so much time with Bill Saturday of the Reunion we almost missed the picnic! We talked about everything in the world and I concluded that Bill should write a book. He has had an exciting life - He also looks great!
May 2008: Just thought I would update the images in my
bio. Want to make sure people know me after all these years.
I've grown to look more mature (not much though). Believe me, the pictures lie. In this family shot, I'm seated with our youngest son, Tom. From left to right front are Lisa (daughter in law), Kadi (grand-daughter) holding Gabriella, grandson Zachary and my oldest child, Monica. This is "Papa" with Gabriella.
This is a collection of ID photos. They really do lie! See you in August. Bill Stanley Click on images to see the real Bill March 2007: Yes I still want to hear from you & Bob. You have both been doing a great job of keeping track of our classmates. The news sometimes saddens me, but it is good to see that people are still active and enjoying growing older (notice I said older and not OLD). I have tried to be involved with outside activities over the years; working with the Boy Scouts of America, the Telephone Pioneers, Volunteer Fire Company, and I enjoy bowling and golfing. I had a heart attack, aortal aneurism and a mini stroke, all in the period of two years, but I can honestly say that I feel healthier than before . The reason for this is the fact that I eat better and exercise more. The last 14 years of career were spent seated behind a desk, smoking and having coffee and donuts. Patty and I now have 3 grandchildren. Their names are Thomas, Zachary and Gabriella. There are two others who call us Granma & Granpa and are accepted as grandchildren (Timothy and Kadi). I will try to be available for the 60th MTL Reunion. My brother, Bob and sister-in-law , Mary Frances Troxell (Stanley) died a year apart. For anyone interested, I am attaching a recent photo of their two grandchildren (Dave and Sean). See you in 2008, Bill Stanley From 1958 Reunion Newsletter: BILL STANLEY. Switchman for Niagara Falls Central office of the New York Telephone Company. Has worked for the Telephone Co. as a Messenger, coin collector & many others.
