Scripture:
			Matthew 11:28 (NASB) –
“Come to Me, all who are
weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.”

			Message:
“God sometimes does His work with a gentle drizzle, not storms.”1
			John Newton (1725-1807).

			As a great hymn writer
who wrote what could possibly be considered the most famous hymn of
all time, “Amazing Grace”2, John Newton
knew the Lord in a way that maybe some of us can relate.  Newton
struggled with depression for years and years, and despite the
depression that he faced, he knew that the Lord was with him.

			Newton retreated into
his home for months at a time, and in that time, he spent his time
writing praises to the Lord.  He considered his home his “safe
space”, and knew that the Spirit of Christ was in it.

			Today, I challenge you
to take some time to retreat into a your “safe space”, in
which you can find yourself alone with the Lord.  As you do that,
pray that God reveals to you what He believes to be true about you.

			Prayer:
Lord, reveal in us today what we cannot see in ourselves.  Amen.
