The Star Of Bethlehem: Promise Fulfilled
			- Part 1

			Scriptures:
			Matthew 2:1-2
(GW) – “Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea when Herod was king.
After Jesus’ birth wise men from the east arrived in Jerusalem.
They asked, ‘Where is the one who was born to be the king of the
Jews?  We saw his star rising and have come to worship him.’”

			John 1:4-5
(GW) – “ He was the source of life, and that life
was the light for humanity.  The light shines in the dark, and the
			dark has never extinguished it.”

			1 Peter 2:9
(GW) – “However, you are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy
nation, people who belong to God.  You were chosen to tell about the
excellent qualities of God, who called you out of darkness into his
			marvelous light.”

			Message:
Matthew describes this unique celestial event to mark the birth of
			the Divine Child.

Around Christmas time, I often search
for the Star of Bethlehem.  In middle school we studied movements of
planets and constellations, yet never discussed this wondrous
star.   Was it a myth, or did it really happen?

One Christmas, we bought a telescope
and looked to the skies whenever the news announced a “once in a
lifetime” celestial event.  These explainable astronomy occurrences
were amazing, yet unlike the Magi’s description.

What happened leading to the night
Jesus was born?  A comet, or a super nova?  No one knows, yet the
Magi had followed the Star for months, maybe years.  However, this
celestial event has had an everlasting effect on mankind!

			Numerous scholars and history buffs
describe stories of prominent figures whose births or deaths were
linked to corresponding astronomical signs.  The birth of Jesus was
no exception.  The stellar phenomenon not only indicated something
extraordinary took place in Bethlehem, but set the spotlight on an
astoundingly Holy occasion to announce the arrival of the Light of
			the World.

There are many theories about the
Guiding Star.  To me, the star’s wondrous light represents God’s
amazing and inclusive love for humanity, emphasizing the plenitude
of His Kingdom and of His unbroken promises of Divine Love.

The Star of Bethlehem affirms God’s
fulfillment of the Messianic prophecies and covenants recorded in
the Old Testament.  The Star’s splendor announced the Good News of
Salvation through the birth of His Son, Jesus.

			Prayer:
Lord, let Your light shine brighter in me so I can be Your light to
those who walk in darkness.  Please help me follow and love You with
			a pure heart.  Amen.

La Estrella de Belén: Promesa Cumplida

			- Parte 1

			Escrituras:

			Mateo 2:1-2

			The Star
Of Bethlehem: A Sign Of Renewal And Hope - Part 2

			Scriptures:
			Matthew 2:7-11
(GW) – “Then Herod secretly called the wise men and found out from
them exactly when the star had appeared.  As he sent them to
Bethlehem, he said, ‘Go and search carefully for the child.  When
you have found him, report to me so that I may go and worship him
too.’  After they had heard the king, they started out.  The star
they had seen rising led them until it stopped over the place where
the child was.  They were overwhelmed with joy to see the star.
When they entered the house, they saw the child with his mother
Mary.  So they bowed down and worshiped him.  Then they opened their
treasure chests and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and
			myrrh.”

			Isaiah 49:6
(CSB) – “he says, ‘It is not enough for you to be my servant raising
up the tribes of Jacob and restoring the protected ones of Israel.
I will also make you a light for the nations, to be my salvation to
			the ends of the earth.’”

			Message:
The Star of Bethlehem has captured the imagination of many, becoming
an icon of Christmas.  The stellar phenomenon came to renew the
faith and hope of the world.

			Matthew recounts how the celestial
star motivated these wise men from the East to undertake a physical
and spiritual pilgrimage in search of divine salvation.  The star
guided the Magi to Jesus, and upon arrival they rejoiced.  Imagine
that awesome encounter!  The star guided them to the source of true
			joy and life.

			The Star of Bethlehem represents
Hope, Jesus frees us from sin, bringing us from darkness into
His light.  The star reveals Immanuel (God with us).

			The Star of Bethlehem declares
Unity, Jesus brings together people of different cultures,
beliefs and social classes.  It teaches us we are all made in the
image of God, and His love is for everyone to bring peace and
			harmony to our world.

			The Star of Bethlehem symbolizes
Light, Jesus lights up our path reminding us that God's love,
guidance and protection will manifest when we least expect it, and
when we most need it.  And, even in times of darkness, when we can’t
see Him or feel Him, He is there every step of our journey.

Break the darkness with your Christmas
lights and decorate your tree with the Star of Bethlehem.  Recognize
God’s Love in every element of this season because Jesus is the
			Light of the World!

La Estrella de Belén: Una Señal de Renovación y Esperanza
			- Parte 2

			Escritura:

culturas, creencias y clases sociales.
			armonía a nuestro mundo.

			Twice
On Wood: The Relationship Between Manger And Cross

			Scripture:
			Philippians
2:6-8 (NKJV) – “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not
robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and
took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of
men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and
became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”

			Message:
Watching “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” caused me to reflect on
the conditions into which Jesus was born. I realized that Jesus
started His earthly life on wood and also left it on wood.
Wow!  How crazy!  I had never seen it this way.  The
manger already announced the cross, and the cross is the result of
			the manger.

			Just
as Isaiah prophesied, the baby Jesus, weak and defenseless, was born
in absolute poverty and loneliness in the humility of a wooden
manger, intended for animals.  Likewise, the man Jesus lived
humbly, in poverty and loneliness.  He died, weak and
defenseless on a wooden cross intended for criminals; all this for
			you and me.

			“Who
Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having
died to sins, might live for righteousness by whose stripes you were
			healed.” 1
			Peter 2:24 (NKJV)

			Often
we get wrapped up in the celebrations of Christmas and Easter,
forgetting the real reason why God sent His only Son to be born in a
manger, to live a life full of difficulties, to die on a cross and
rise on the third day.  The manger birth is inseparable from
what happened at Calvary.  May our Easter celebration and joy
serve as a reminder of our sinful nature and how much we need God.

Friends, God invites us to know His Son, not only in His birth, but
in His death on the cross and in His resurrection.  God does
not want us to remain strangers to the salvation He offers through
His Son Jesus Christ.  God desires us to live our lives in
repentance, He forgives our sins and offers salvation.  Never
let us forget the connection between the manger and the cross.
Jesus is God's gift of salvation to the world!

			Prayer:
Lord, open our hearts in this Lenten season to understand the reason
for Your coming, Your sacrifice, and to repent so that we may
participate in the salvation and eternal life that You freely offer
			us.  Amen.

Dos Veces En el Madero: La
Relación entre el Pesebre y la Cruz

			Escritura:

			Filipenses
			2:6-8
			( RVA-2015)

			Hardships
Anyone?  Our Hardships Are Used By God!

			Scripture:
			2 Timothy 4:2
(NKJV) – “Preach the word!  Be ready in season and out of season.
Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.”

			Message:
It was 1:30am in ER I’m unable to breathe with a worried husband,
and five medics working on me.  Thank God by 3:30am I’m breathing.
Problem not known, no beds, so I’m stuck in ER for 17 hours.   I’m
getting frustrated and feeling sorry for myself.  Somehow the story
of Paul and Silas in jail (Acts 16:16-34) came to mind.  These two
disciples got arrested and beaten for helping a slave girl; yet
still managed to pray, sing and preach, so why am I complaining?

We know that problems, hardships and sickness are part of life.
Even though we are saved and live in Christ we easily get
discouraged when bad stuff happens.  The Bible teaches us not to
lose patience and always trust God.  So, why do we so easily get
thrown off the Godly path?  Simple, because we live in an evil world
and a sinful body that pushes us to worry and doubt.  Paul says,
“Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I
press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has
also laid hold of me.” Philippians 3:12 (NKJV)

Sometimes I may seem a little hypocritical: I need the same advice
I'm giving, but I don't think God sees it that way at all.  He knows
that even when we believe His Word, at times we don't hold on to it
as firmly as we should.  Philippians 3:12 gives me hope!

While in the hospital, I tried to make the best of it.  As I was
gaining strength, I had the opportunity to show videos of our praise
band, and talk about what God has done in my life. I even gave away
devotional booklets!  Doing this filled me with joy and changed
my outlook during this “terrible season”.

Friends, keep sharing Christ, use His words to counsel and comfort
ourselves and others because He is the best gift we have to offer.
Yes, we are going to mess up but it’s okay, as long as we don’t stop
			seeking God’s presence.

			Prayer:
God You know we are not perfect.  Keep working over our brokenness
and our battle scars.  Help us to live a life according to You, in
			victory through Christ.  Amen.

¿Alguien con dificultades? ¡Dios usa nuestras dificultades!

			Escritura:

16:16-34) vino a mi mente.

¡Filipenses
			3:12 me da esperanza!

A medida
¡Incluso

			Who Do You Say
			That I Am?

			Española

			Scripture:
Matthew 16:15-17 (CSB) – “‘But you’, he asked them, ‘who do you say
that I am?’ Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of
the living God.’ Jesus responded, ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of
Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my
			Father in heaven.’”

			Message:
A few weeks ago, approaching a Publix register, I saw something
unexpected, magazines with the headline: “JESUS, Who do you say that
I am?” I gasped, the gentleman behind handed me the LIFE magazine,
but I politely declined. Nonetheless, I couldn’t forget the
			headline.

			Many times, we
self-proclaim to be followers of Christ but don’t behave like we
understand our beliefs. We live our lives often forgetting who
Jesus is, letting our actions deny His Godliness and existence. Well, it’s time to snap out of it!

			In Matthew 16:15
Jesus was not guided by ego, or vainglory. His thought-provoking
inquiry was to make the disciples ponder about the status of their
faith and discipleship. The Gospels show they witnessed miraculous
healings, provisions and forgiveness, so, surely, they knew who He
was. But Jesus understood that they needed a push to claim and
accept the truth that Jesus was God, the awaited Messiah.

			Throughout the
Bible, we find God intentionally delivering His messages gradually. He reveals what’s needed as we progress in faith, gently nudging
and guiding us towards the realization that there’s always more to
learn about Him. Hebrews 6:1a (CSB) – “Therefore, let us leave the
elementary teaching about Christ and go on to maturity,”

			Despite my
travails, I am certain that He is the Son of God, my Lord and
Savior. His Holy Spirit lives in me, His resurrection is my hope
and one day I will see Him face to face. Declaring this, helps me
stay open to new teachings and revelations and to keep on growing my
faith and persevering in my Christian walk. How about you?

			When we express
this conviction freely and wholeheartedly, then whatever our
situation, our faith won’t be shaken. Romans 8:28 (CSB) – “We know
that all things work together for the good of those who love God,
who are called according to his purpose.”

			Prayer:
God, give us willing hearts to accept the love and power given to us
through Your Son, Jesus. Allow us to keep learning, growing our
faith and claiming You as our Redeemer. Amen.

sinceramente, no importando nuestra situación, nuestra fe no caerá.

Jesucristo. Permítenos seguir aprendiendo, creciendo nuestra fe y
			reclamándote como nuestro Redentor. Amén.

If It Was Not For The Cross

			Scripture:
1 Peter 2:24 (NASB 1995) – “and He Himself bore our sins in His body
			on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness;
for by His wounds you were healed.”

			Message:
The holidays were rough on me. While feeling overwhelmed, being
sick and overworked didn’t help. When that happens, I quiet my mind
and uplift my spirits through worship. As more work kept piling up,
I heard the song “Hallelujah for the Cross” by

			Chris McClarney.

Listening to the beautiful lyrics, a sense of relief flooded my body
and excited my soul. Then, I began to wonder… “What would have
happened if Jesus didn’t die on the cross?” “Where would I be?” 1
			Peter 2:24 (NASB 1995)

Based on earthly knowledge, answers could easily go all over the
place, however, if we focus on a few key Biblical elements about the
miracle of the Cross we find that:

Without the Cross, there is NO adequate sacrifice for our sins.
Galatians 2:20 (NIV) - “I have been crucified with Christ and I no
longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the
body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave
			himself for me.”

Without the Cross, there is NO salvation for humanity.
Romans 3:23-24 (NIV) – “for all have sinned and fall short of the
glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the
redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”

Without the Cross, there is NO forgiveness for us.
Ephesians 1:7 (NIV) – “In him we have redemption through his blood,
the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s
			grace”

Without the Cross, there is NO Good News to share. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (ESV) – “For
our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we
might become the righteousness of God.”

Jesus died on the Cross, shed His blood so that we are set free. And like Paul in Romans 7:25a (NIV), I join in saying: “Thanks
be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!”

Consider how the miracle of the Cross has changed you? Don’t just
			acknowledge it, Celebrate it!

			Prayer:
God, help us to understand the value of the Cross and rejoice in it. Thank You for showing us love, mercy and grace through Jesus
			Christ. Amen.

			 Si no

			Chris McClarney
			comenzó a tocar.

Entonces comencé a preguntarme “¿Qué hubiera

No sólo

More Than A Gift – Part 1 | The Gift Of Gold

			Scripture:
Matthew 2:11 (NKJV) – “And when they had come into the house, they
saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and
worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they
presented gifts to Him: Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh.”

			Message:
Do you remember the song “We Three Kings”? Actually, this famous
carol is wrong because the Bible never mentioned they were “Kings”
nor says how many men. Nevertheless, the Bible points out two
facts: they were “wise”, and they brought gifts! I’m certain they
brought many gifts, but Matthew only highlights three: Gold,
			Frankincense and Myrrh.

So, let’s reflect on those gifts and how they relate to us today.
Besides their great value, these gifts had prophetic and
			instructional importance.

			Gold
= Kingship and Treasure. Gold is a symbol of wealth,
reminiscent of royalty, power and divinity. Gold as a precious
metal, is often linked to godly principles and promises that are
perfect and infallible, displacing worldly beliefs. What does
Scripture tell us about “our gold and our treasure”: “Each of you
must bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has
blessed you.” (Deuteronomy 16:17 NIV); “Each of you should give what
you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under
compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7 NIV).

The Wise Men’s example shows that when we surrender our lives to
Jesus, we commit to giving our best: “For where your treasure is,
there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21 NKJV).

Friends, God uses our treasures to care for all His people, to bless
the needy and advance His Kingdom. I know sometimes we are not
in a position to give our “gold”, yet to be part of Jesus ministry
it is essential to become joyful givers.

We are capable of gifting so much more, not only our gold. Let
us consider and pray to discern what is holding us back and
regardless of our beliefs about giving, to know that God has called
us to live a generous life.

			Prayer:
Father God, guide us to learn about giving, and help us understand
what You ask of us. Please aid our current situation, open the
right doors and lead us to seek proper counsel so we can become
better stewards of Your world and our possessions to better serve
			You and Your Kingdom. Amen!

Más Que Un Regalo – Parte 1 | El Regalo De
			Oro

			tres: Oro, Incienso y Mirra.

			SEÑOR tu Dios te haya bendecido” Deuteronomio 16:17 (RVA-2015);

			Reino. ¡Amén!

More Than A Gift – Part 2 | The Value Of Aromatics

			Scripture:
Matthew 2:11 (NKJV) – “And when
they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His
mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened
their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: Gold, Frankincense,
			and Myrrh.

Message: In “We Three Kings” we sing about
Frankincense and Myrrh; both derived from resin trees and used for
spiritual and medicinal purposes. So, why are these gifts
			highlighted in Matthew’s account?

			Frankincense
= Holy and Righteous. For centuries, this scent was coveted for its
aromatic properties and was commonly used in worship in many
religions. With this Gift, the Wise Men recognized the Divinity of
Jesus, declaring His Sainthood, the Ultimate Priest, the Promised
Messiah, as found in Isaiah 7:14 (NLT) – “the Lord himself will give
you a sign: Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give
birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with
			us’)”.

			Myrrh

= Remedy and Healing. In ancient times, Myrrh, a sap, was often used
for its medicinal properties to purify, kill bacteria and slow
decay. With this Gift, the Wise Men announced the suffering and
death of Jesus as foretold by Isaiah: Jesus, through His death was
the “remedy” to “heal” our relationship with God, bringing
forgiveness and salvation. Isaiah 53:5 (NIV) – “But he was pierced
for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the
punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we
			are healed.”

These aromatic gifts were a perfect representation of the Life and
Ministry of Jesus. The Wise Men declared Jesus is Lord, our High
Priest, Savior and Redeemer of Mankind!

How does this story apply to us? Is Jesus Lord of our lives? Have
we shared what Jesus has done for us?

Friends, imitate the Wise Men. Don’t keep it to yourselves, go and
spread the good news. Let’s tell the world that through His love we
are free and, because of Him there is hope and in Him we find
peace. Be encouraged to talk to someone about Jesus today!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, give us the courage and
the wisdom to speak about You. Give us the ability to include You
into our daily conversations. Help us live by Your teachings, and
be a living testimony of Your love and grace to draw more people
towards You. In Jesus Name. Amen.

More Than A Gift – Part 3 | More Than Meets The
			Eye

			Scriptures:
Matthew 2:1-2 (NIV) – “After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea,
during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to
Jerusalem and asked, ‘Where is the one who has been born king
of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and we have come
			to worship him.’”

			(Italics added)

Matthew 2:7 (NIV) – “Then Herod called the Magi secretly and
found out from them the exact time the star had appeared.” (Italics
			added)

			Message:
Come sing with me! “We three kings of Orient are, bearing gifts we
traverse afar, field and fountain, moor and mountain, following
yonder star. O star of wonder, star of light, star with royal
beauty bright, westward leading, still proceeding, guide us to thy
			perfect light.”

“We Three Kings” by clergyman J H Hopkins was intended for an 1857
Epiphany drama. It depicts the three most crucial events in Jesus’
life: His birth, death and resurrection.

Matthew’s account is vague, omitting country of origin, number, and
names of the Magi. We only learn they were noblemen from the east,
eager to worship the Newborn King. Although Matthew only mentions
three gifts, I’m deeply convinced that there’s so much more than
			meets the eye!

Matthew 2:1 points to the incredible distance and difficult terrain
they endured to meet the Holy Child. They were totally committed:
here we unveil the Gift of Time!

Matthew 2:2 points to God’s invitation for all to worship Jesus.
They were not afraid to tell everyone about worshipping God’s Son:
here we discover the Gift of Testimony!

Matthew 2:7 points to the Magi as extraordinary men of faith and
			scholars of science, literature and religion.  Their sole purpose;
to follow the star leading to the fulfillment of the Messianic
Prophecy, the birth of Israel’s King of Kings: here we uncover the
			Gift of Talents!

Do you see what I see? Friends, living the Generous Life is not only
about giving our Treasures, it involves serving to further
Jesus’ Kingdom with our Time, Testimony, and
			Talents.

As Christians we are called to invest in ministry, to be generous
with our lives, just as the Magi generously committed everything to
			God’s calling.

			Prayer:
Dear Jesus, our goal is to be like You. Open our eyes, ears and
hearts to be more aware and mindful of what You need from us. Plant
Your desire in us; grow and align our will with Your will. Amen!

			Más Que Un Regalo
			– Parte 3 | Más De Lo Que Vemos

			Versículos:

Mateo 2:1-2 (RVA-2015) “Jesús nació en Belén de Judea, en días del
rey Herodes. Y he aquí unos Magos vinieron del oriente a Jerusalén

			Scripture:

Romans 5:17 (NLT) - "For the sin of this one man,
Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is
God's wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who
receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one
			man, Jesus Christ."

			Message: As a Baptist
preacher's kid, besides schoolwork and chores, we had Sunday, morning
and evening worship, and our week was filled with church activities.
We were so involved that I believed I was in excellent standing with
God with no time left for sin. Oh! How wrong I was!
"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth
is not in us." 1 John 1:8 (NKJV)
			In Sunday, school we learnt
about Adam and Eve. I had mixed feelings, but I was fascinated
about how they were created by God and placed in a beautiful garden.
Then frustrated when one foolish single act of selfish disobedience
disrupted their relationship with God. Later I was
disappointed in them when they caused damnation, fear and shame to
enter the world and God removed them from the garden.
			Unfortunately, once sin
entered the world through them, our bond with God was broken pushing
us away from God's presence; getting back to God was difficult.

			But thank God for Jesus
Christ we are Saved! "For God so loved the world that He
gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son
into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him
might be saved." John 3:16-17 (NKJV).
As a child I did not
understand why this "church lifestyle" did not satisfy me. I
felt empty, doubtful, fearful and lost. Simple: since Adam and
Eve, no matter what we do, we all have a basic inclination to sin.
"For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of
the glory of God," Romans 3:22c-23 (NKJV).
			As I grew, I kept
listening and started to comprehend. On April 1,
1984, I WAS FORGIVEN! "So then faith comes by hearing,
and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

			Prayer: Heavenly
Father, thank You for sending Your Son to redeem us and to bring us
back into relationship with You. Through Christ we are
forgiven. Please help us to show that same forgiveness to
			others. Amen!

			Peter 1:3-5 (NIV)
			– "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an
inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This
inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are
shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is
ready to be revealed in the last time."

			Message:
			Growing up
with a music loving dad as a pastor, Christian music was our
turntable staple. In 1979 the Christian band "The Imperials"
hit song "I'm Forgiven"1 remains very dear and near to me
			today.

Have you heard the term: "Triple Saved"?
I love the lyrics of this song because they reveal profound truths
about the gospel in the simplest, yet most powerful way possible:

Jesus, the Perfect Sacrifice – WE WERE
			SAVED

on the cross: "Christ suffered and died for our sins once and for all.
He never sinned and yet He died for us who have sinned. He
died so He might bring us to God. His body died but His spirit
			was made alive."
			1 Peter 3:18 (NLV).

			Jesus, the Greatest Advocate –

WE REMAIN SAVED by His Resurrection: Who then is the one who
condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died - more than
that, who was raised to life - is at the right hand of God and is
also interceding for us." Romans 8:34 (NIV).

Jesus, the True Hope – WE WILL BE
			SAVED

on His return: "And since we have been made right in God's sight by
the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God's
condemnation." Romans 5:9 (NLT) "Christ died for us so that, whether
we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever."
			1 Thessalonians 5:10 (NLT).

The song claims: we were saved, we are kept saved,
and we will be saved in the second coming; in Christ, SALVATION IS
			COMPLETE!

Please listen to the song "I'm Forgiven" by "The

			Prayer:

Home For The Holidays: Joy Or Jitters?

			Scripture:

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) – “Trust in the Lord with all your
heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways
acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

			Message:

Last year, my boss asked me to write a cheerful message to employees
in our company chat at the start of 4th quarter which
			includes the “stressful” Holiday Season.

For many, this time of year means togetherness and celebration, but
for others it means chaos and anxiety.

I have previously suffered these feelings, but now I understand that
our Savior Jesus not only freed us from sin, He also released us
from the chains of stress and worry.

You see, if the risen Jesus defeated death, then He lives in us and
His power is in us. If we acknowledge and claim His risen
power, then no feelings of stress, despair or hurt can exert control
			over us.

Jesus said, “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry
about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34 (NASB1995).

If the Holiday season becomes too stressful and starts to take a
toll, pause and rethink our attitude towards each day. “I can
do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians
			4:13 (NKJV)

Friends, it's okay if everything doesn’t go as planned. Sit in
His presence, rest in Him, and leave your disappointments and
frustrations by His feet. Learn to bring Him your praises
along with your troubles and worries, don’t carry them into
tomorrow. Let GO and let GOD flood your heart with His
heavenly love and sense of peace.

Let’s change our daily mindset with "I GET TO" instead of "I HAVE
TO”. Be GRATEFUL that we GET TO work and have a busy day, that
we GET TO have an income, a roof over our heads and food on our
tables. THANK GOD every day that we GET TO enjoy our family
and friends. Yes, the Holiday Season can be chaotic and full
of anxiety if we allow it, but remember in the midst of all, GOD has
			FAVORED US!!!

			Prayer:

Dear Lord, we know the Holidays are a time of celebration and yet
often we feel overwhelmed. During this time fill us with Your
peace, help us rest in the knowledge that You are in control and
			Your grace is enough. Amen!

A Casa para las Fiestas: Alegría o Nervios

			Escritura: Proverbios

reconocemos y reclamamos Su poder resucitado, entonces ningún

Ve,
entra en Su presencia, descansa en Él y deja tus desilusiones y
			frustraciones a Sus pies.  Aprende
a llevarle tus alabanzas junto con tus problemas y preocupaciones,
no los cargues al día de mañana.  Deja

Anxiety? Don’t Wait, Be Resolute Now!

			Scripture:
Luke 10:40-42 (NKJV) – “But Martha was distracted with much serving,
and she approached Him and said, ‘Lord, do You not care that my
sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore, tell her to help
me.’ And Jesus answered and said to her, ‘Martha, Martha, you
are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is
needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken
			away from her.’”

			Message:
For centuries, the world has celebrated the New Year by making
resolutions to do something good for themselves; live healthier,
learn new things and become happier. Do we follow through?
			Not so much…

Feeling anxious, tired and stressed? Getting trapped in the
busy seasons of life? Of course! We all feel the weight
of current events at home and all around us, but we need to do our
best to steer clear of the madness and set our sights on what
			matters most.

In Luke 10:40 Martha focuses too much on hosting Jesus, forgetting
to slow down and be present, and she allowed the stress and anxiety to
steal her blessing. Martha totally missed the meaning and the
value of having Jesus visit her home.

Anxiety can easily take hold and fester within us, leaving us
restless, on edge, irritable and hopeless, which suffocates our
peace and joy. Whenever I find myself anxious or stressed, this
verse comes to mind: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by
prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be
made known to God;” Philippians 4:6 (NKJV)

There is no point worrying about things that we don’t have control
or power over. Be like Mary, indulge in God’s presence and
soak up His teachings and comfort.

Hold on to hope and be resolute in neglecting stress and anxiety.
Remember He is the gateway to unfailing love and perfect peace.

Stop, take a minute to close your eyes, then breathe deeply, fill
your lungs and exhale slowly and repeat. Quiet your mind,
envision the tension and worries lifting away with every deep
breath. Turn off everything that plagues your mind, rejecting
thoughts of defeat and surrender to peace.

			Prayer:
Heavenly Father, remind me that You are in control, not me.
Grant me Your peace and teach me to trust You. Thank You for
holding all things together by Your power and for sending Your Son
			Jesus to rescue me. Amen!

			¿Ansiedad?  ¡No
			Espere, Decídase Ahora!

			Escritura: Lucas
mi hermana me deje trabajar sola?  ¡Dile

			logramos?  No
			siempre…

			¿Se siente ansioso, cansado y estresado?  ¿Está
atrapado en los afanes de la vida?  ¡Por
			supuesto!

			rescatarme.  ¡Amén!

			Scripture:

			Matthew 2:1-2
(NIV) - "Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days
of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem,
saying, 'Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have
seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.'"

			Message:
			My hometown is
known as "The City of the Wise Men", or more commonly as "The Three
Kings!" Bound by culture and tradition brought by Spaniards
back in 1500s, I was taught to render homage to what we mostly see
in a nativity scene today: Baby Jesus surrounded by Mary, Joseph, an
angel, a couple of shepherds, a few animals and the Three Wise Men.

For so many years I was fooled, like so many
others, to believe that this was how it happened. Little did I
know that such a famous story was not literally true, since "the
Three Wise Men" were not present at Jesus' birth.

Pondering on this discovery, my eyes were opened
and my mind fueled to learn more. This led me to wonder
"What does the visit of the Wise Men teach us about the Newborn
			Savior?"

Indeed, it shines light into many aspects
surrounding the Life and Ministry of Jesus, but in this devotional, we
focus on: "Jesus came for all the nations, bringing light and joy to
			the world!"

The Wise Men were outsiders, not from God's chosen
race, shows that Emanuel didn't just come for Israel; the story is
emphatic: Jesus came for all nations claims the Kingdom of God is
for all peoples. This story is central and can be considered a
preamble to John 3:16-17 (NIV): "For God so loved the world that He
gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son
into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him
			might be saved."

			Prayer:

Lord open our eyes, our hearts and our minds so that we can fully
understand that Jesus came for all mankind, even at his birth
outsiders were chosen by God. Help us to continually seek Your
truth revealed through the Bible and to recognize that our
understanding needs to continually grow and become aligned with Your
understanding. Help us on our journey. In Christ's name.
			Amen

			Scripture:

			Matthew 2:9-10
(NIV) - "When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the
star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came
and stood over where the young Child was. When they saw the
star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy."

			Message:
			The story
indicates the Wise Men, not shaken by Herod's statements, left him
behind to follow the star until it stopped at the place where the
Young Child was. When they saw the star and the child, they
rejoiced greatly. This fact teaches us that when we meet
Jesus, not only our lives are filled with light but also with
immense joy, Jesus brings Good News to all who meet Him!

Friends, it is time we learn to present the
arrival of Jesus for what it is, the simplicity of gospel, He came
to give us new life, guide us with love and justice, to bring peace
and joy and free all areas of our lives. In the Name of the
Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit, Amen!

Nowadays, the convenience of technology, fast
transportation and easy communications provides us with a safe and
immediate access to the church. Sometimes we may have too many
			options to congregate, worship and learn from God's Word;
nevertheless we have the choice as to whether we take advantage of
the favorable privilege Jesus offers. There are times when we
find and justify "reasons" that keep us from attending church and
seeking fellowship with others who love Jesus. We make
pathetic excuses like: tiredness; "bad" weather; and distance not to
seek His presence. These excuses mean that we dishonor God
when we do not participate in worship. Friends, this story
teach us that these worldly Wise Men spared no resources or efforts
in order to reach the Messiah King, because their greatest desire
was to honor and worship Him.

Do we make excuses, or do we unreservedly honor
God as the Wise Men did?

Do you really believe that Jesus came to bring
light, joy and salvation? If so, let this be our daily song and
prayer: "Joy to the world, the Lord is come, Let earth
receive her King, Let every heart prepare Him room, And heaven and
nature sing, And heaven and nature sing, And heaven, and heaven, and
nature sing! Joy to the world..."

And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, 'Go and search carefully for
the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me,
that I may come and worship Him also.'"

			Message:
			Continuing the
Wise Men story in Matthew, immediately we can see some of the Old
Testament prophecies unfolding: like the cruelness of the
government; their fear and jealousy; the hatred of the true prophets
and scholars; and rejection by the people. This is shown so
clearly during Jesus' ministry. Out of the get go, the gospel
starts by criticizing the political powers who are willing to
deceive, cheat and even kill just to get their way.

The beauty of the Wise Men is that, despite the
obstacles and dangers they encountered during their long, tumultuous
journey, it didn't stop them from finding Emmanuel, God with Us.

Brothers and Sisters, in the Wise Men we meet True
Worshipers, willing to give everything to be in the presence of the
King of Kings and Lord of Lords. What an excellent and
valuable lesson these Wise Men offer to those of us who call
ourselves followers of Jesus! This illuminates the importance
of believing and demonstrates the immense value received by True
Worshipers of God when we honor Him with the best of ourselves.

			Prayer:
			Lord, we ask you to
make our hearts strong but sensitive to your call. We do not
wish to jump from one place to another, nor do we want to let
ourselves be carried away by emotion, or the desires of this world.
We ask that our soul seeks your presence and our spirit burns with
the desire to adore and worship You with joy and freedom. Just
as You showed Your wonders to Wise Men and guided them through Your
Spirit, please lead us to find the direct path to You. May we
honor You, dear God, not because we are commanded but because we are
grateful for all Your goodness and mercy. Let us Glorify Your
Name always in our daily lives and not just in church. In the
Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen!

			Unveiling God: Part 1
			– How To Find
			God

			Española

			Scripture:
			John 4:7, 9 (NKJV) – “A woman
of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, ‘Give Me a
drink’. Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, ‘How is it that You,
being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?’ For Jews have
			no dealings with Samaritans.”

Message: My sister and I stopped at a Southern
Fried Chicken place nearby, first thing I noticed was a BIG marker
written sign: “GOD CAN BE FOUND ANYWHERE, YOUR WELCOME!”

It struck me like lightning! I turned around and saw an Asian old
lady, a Country Boy in hunting gear, a friendly Rasta man, a joyful
Afro-American kitchen staff, then us, two ordinary latinas and a
lil’ dog. Do you see what I see? Yes, a sample of God and His HEAVEN!

Everyone was nice and polite, we chatted and smiled while we waited our
turn, enjoying the delicious smells and sounds of laughter from the
kitchen. There was NO race, color, politics or religion interfering
the togetherness and camaraderie in that little space. With NO
divide or difference, just good people excited for the good that was
			to come.

A girl yelled next, “It’s the guy’s turn”, but he kindly let us
ahead and we gladly accepted. I asked her, “Hey what’s that about?” Pointing at the sign, she proudly grinned: “Oh! That’s my Grams
idea, we was taught to share Jesus; You order?!” I paused and felt
the Holy Spirit tell me, ask for Gram? So, I did; when she came to
the window her response was priceless: “Child? Do you know how many
people are looking for God and miss Him?" They think He's
out of reach! Just like a road sign leads to where we need to go,
well then, I’m lettin’em know… You good?!” How come something so
simple can be so profound at the same time; this reminded me of
Jesus and the Samaritan woman at Jacobs well.

The Disciples were confused when they saw Jesus talking with a
foreign unclean woman and drinking from an unclean cup; Jesus showed
that no one is beyond redemption.

			Prayer:

Father, help us to follow the example of Jesus and greet all
outsiders in love. Let us show every day that Your unconditional
love is for all humankind. In the name of Your Son, our Savior,
			Jesus. Amen.

			Destapando a Dios: Parte 1
			Como Encontrar a
			Dios?

			Escritura: Juan
NO había raza, color, política o
amor. Demostrando tu amor incondicional por la humanidad. En el
Nombre de Jesús, nuestro Salvador, ¡Amén!

Unveiling God: Part 2 – God Is Everywhere!

			Scriptures:

John 4:24 (NKJV) – “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must
			worship in spirit and truth.”

John 4: 4:13-14 (NKJV) – “Jesus answered and said to her, ‘Whoever
drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the
water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I
shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up
			into everlasting life.’”

			John 4:28-30
(NKJV) – “The woman then left her water pot, went her
way into the city, and said to the men, ‘Come, see a Man who told me
all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?’ Then they
went out of the city and came to Him.”

			Message:
When Jesus was talking to the Samaritan woman, he said, "God is
Spirit." This means that God can be found anywhere, in any
			place, at any time. He is NOT out of sight, He is NOT out of mind;
He is NOT far away in Heaven, He is NOT isolated to a church, or a
temple. God is implanted in every fiber of our being; He is the
essence of the world surrounding us. We can find Him under the shade
of the tree we rest in, in the sound of the crashing waves, in the
joyful laughter of children, inside our homes, right here, in this
			moment, all around us.

Like the Samaritan woman and Abu from the Southern Fried Chicken
place, we only need to open our Spiritual Eyes and Ears to SEE God and
HEAR His voice. We have to be ready and willing to receive His
message of Eternal Love and Infinite Peace.

Friends, let us not withhold the GOOD NEWS, all to ourselves. We
must be available and prepared to Share His Message and Show people
that God is EVERYWHERE; they just need to want to FIND Him!

			Prayer:

Father, we Thank You for Your infinite love, for Jesus Christ, who
is THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE! For us who BELIEVE in You, Lord,
give us the courage and desire to share the Gospel with those who
are searching for You. Lord, open their eyes and ears so that they
can hear and feel Your Presence inside and around them. Use us, Lord
in a special way as You did with the Samaritan woman. In Your Name
			we pray. Amen!

			Destapando a Dios:

			Parte 2
			- Dios está
			Dondequiera!

			Escritura: Juan

			Unveiling God: Part 3
			– Leading Others
			To God

			Scriptures:
			John 4:25-26 (NKJV) – “The
woman said to Him, ‘I know that Messiah is coming’ (who is called
Christ). ‘When He comes, He will tell us all things.’ Jesus said
to her, ‘I who speak to you am He.’”

			John 39-42 (NKJV) – “And
many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the
word of the woman who testified, ‘He told me all that I ever did.’

So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with
them; and He stayed there two days. And many more believed because
of His own word. Then they said to the woman, ‘Now we believe, not
because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and
we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.’”

Message: Through the ages humanity has been
seeking God. Explorers have traveled the ends of the world for this
and the only thing they come to report is natives worshiping a
“Supreme Being”. Who told them there is a God? Exactly, it’s
imbedded in our DNA because we were created by God, for God, to
adore and praise Him. The problem is that due to freewill, worldly
knowledge and spiritual weakness, we have lost sight of His
Presence, drawing ourselves far away from Him.

Just like the Samaritan woman, the only way to better understand our
need for God, is to realize we are made by Him, for Him. To find
God, we need to seek Him in Spirit and Truth. We must recognize His
Presence to experience the Peace, Joy and Rest that only He provides. Our Creator designed us to dwell in harmony with Him. God exists,
He is everywhere, and He always will be, look for the GREAT I AM, He
is closer than you think! And remember, God chooses anyone to do
			His work on earth.

Are we ready to be evangelists for Christ, seeking others who do not
			know Him?

			Escritura: Juan
			 Mensaje: A
Y recuerda, Dios escoge a

not fast as you do this day, to make your voice heard on high.
Is it a fast that I have chosen, a day for a man to afflict his

			Message:
			Many people in
the world exercise a bunch of religious practices, customs and
rituals during Lent Season. They do these for many reasons,
but do they do it with the right attitude?

During Lent people tend to offer acts of humility
and sacrifice before God as an offering but with what purpose?
Many carry hidden agendas, trying to force their will over God.
Lent should be a time for us to look for God's will not ours, to
have Him come near us, just like Jesus did those 40 days in the
			desert.

As we all know Lent is supposed to represent a
time of privation, a journey of reflection, a time that calls us to
			interior renunciation.

In Isaiah 58:3b-6, we find that God's people
fasted in hopes to show off their "spirituality" or to try to get
their way instead of desiring for God's presence to draw near to
them. However, since they behave in a selfish manner and
treated others poorly, their religious expressions were empty, not
			pleasing to God.

All their rituals became meaningless for their
actions did not match their hearts and true desires. It's like
they forgot that God knows each heart and the motives behind each
			action.

Which reminds me about the True Fasting outlined
			for us in Isaiah 58:7-9.

			Prayer:
			Dear Father, You are
a compassionate, merciful God and All Your ways are perfect.
We are deeply sorry for letting our hearts go astray by our own
desires and the things of the world, for how we have turned away
from You and try to impose our will on You. Help us learn from
Isaiah the way you would have us worship You. Amen.

(Please read the entire text in your Bible)

			Message:

The truth of the matter is that no religious practice such as
fasting or abstinence during Lent or any other time, can hide the
principal motive of our acts. If we truly embrace Lent Season,
the way it was meant to be, and we practice fasting and abstinence
with the right attitude, I am sure we will achieve their great
spiritual end. It will help us see that we are just a weak,
raw flesh, limited by sin that needs to surrender to God first, if
we desire to experience His presence and express how much we need
			Him in our lives.

God does not desire a show of humility, He desires for us to turn
our hearts toward him and seek to love our neighbor. To
serve the Lord is to neglect ourselves, to deny our needs, to get
closer to God, to show him our love, obedience and submission by
living by His Will, His Grace and put others before us!

Lent Season is indeed an invitation for us to shed some of our
selfish selves and to reorder our spiritual perspectives. In
abstinence, we must fight through our worldly desires and do our
BEST to remain focused on the act of pursuing God and loving others
just as Christ showed us through His ministry.

Friends, God promises that if we strive to live up to His will, to
see the need, to help and serve others, He will bless us abundantly.
Therefore, LET US LIVE A NEVER-ENDING SEASON OF LENT!

			Prayer:

Dear Father, You are a compassionate, merciful God and All Your ways
are perfect. Forgive us Lord and soften our hearts, let us
seek Your face and long for Your presence in our lives. We
praise You because we are Your handiwork, created in Jesus to do
good works as we humble ourselves, submitting to Your will.
Because of You, Father, surely goodness and mercy will follow us all
the days of our lives. In Jesus name. Amen.

			Understanding Forgiveness - Part 1 |

			|

			Española

			Scripture:

			Matthew 18:21
(NKJV) - "Then Peter came to Him and said, `Lord, how
often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to
			seven times?"

			Message:

As long as we live in this world there will always be the need for
			forgiveness...

The act of forgiveness is not natural; for us humans it is extremely
difficult to ask for it or to grant it. Many say "I forgive, but I
do not forget", so is that really forgiveness or an excuse to
justify the resentment they carry inside?

Many times, we find it impossible to overcome resentment, hatred,
and the desire for revenge. Often, after the offense, the roots of
bitterness become so deep that the conditions of reconciliation are
practically impossible, especially when it comes to forgiving using
			only human power and capacity.

It is very hard and disappointing when someone we trust betrays,
denies, lies, offends, and humiliates us. This not only happens
between friends, family or work, this can happen in any relationship
that we have in our society.

After these unfortunate events, we feel frustrated; sadness afflicts
us; we have mixed feelings; anger invades us; hatred stalks us; and,
finally, our human weakness begins to reject those who hurt us.
There is only one way to combat these feelings; only one way to
fight them and stop the disaster in time: "Forgiveness".

In verse 21 we see that Peter goes directly to Jesus with this
question since forgiveness is so difficult. Peter recognized that
Jesus is the only one capable of guiding us and teaching us how to
understand the process of forgiveness and how to practice it.

The world tells us: how can a wife forgive the one who murdered her
husband? How can you forgive the slanderer who caused you to lose
your job? How can you forgive someone who robs your home? How do you
forgive someone who breaks your way in traffic? How can you forgive
the insolent relative or the inconsiderate neighbor? People
say that time is the solution, but NO! ONLY CHRIST IS THE SOLUTION!

			Prayer:

Father, right now we ask You to touch our hearts, to break the
chains that bind us and to remove any weight that prevents us from
forgiving those who offend us. We know this is so difficult to do.
We need Your help and guidance. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

			Understanding Forgiveness - Part 2 |

			|

			Scripture:

Matthew 18:22 (NKJV) - "Jesus said to him (Peter), 'I do not say to
you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.'"

			Message:

The philosophy of this world dictates that there are offenses that
cannot be forgiven, but that wandering mentality ends once Christ
enters our hearts. Only the love of God is what changes our
feelings and our way of thinking, just as it happened to Peter.

Like all things in life, it is true, changes take time. But
according to a new life in Christ, there must be a similarity
between God's forgiveness and Christian forgiveness as we can only
forgive when our heart is filled with God's love and our reactions
are guided by the Holy Spirit. Once we learn to forgive from
the heart, we will remove the bonds of hatred, revenge, resentment
and we will be free not only for our benefit and the one who
offended us, but also for all those around us.

Now then, when the moment comes, in which we are able to forgive the
"unforgivable", or to whom it was totally impossible to forgive,
this will be our sign, not only that we are Citizens of the Kingdom
of Heaven, but that we have begun to live under the Will of Jesus
Christ. Only God with His pure and true love gives us
the Divine Capacity to forgive those who offend us, as many times as
necessary, 70 times Seven! (the Biblical expression for infinity).

			Family Activity:
Examine your hearts, ask yourself the following
questions to see if you need to forgive someone...

Deep in your heart, do you expect someone to get what they deserve?
Do you speak negatively of that person to others? What do you feel
when good things happen to the one who offended you? Do you
spend time thinking about what that person did to you? Do you
find it impossible to pray for the one who offended you? Do
you often get angry, bitter, and depressed?

			Think about this:
If God examined your heart today, what
			would He find?

			Prayer:

Lord, Your Word promises us that You will help us in everything,
perform a miracle in our lives, fill us with Your love and
understanding, let our hearts be renewed in You every day.
Help us forgive others just as You forgive us. In Christ Jesus
			our Savior. Amen!
