Scripture:
			Colossians 4:2
(NLT) – “Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a
			thankful heart.”

			Message:
When our sons were little, we said simple, easy to learn, prayers at
every meal.  One crazy morning, I recited one as I wiped drool from
one child’s chin and snatched dangling bacon from the other child’s
hand.  Our salivating dog whined in protest.

			A quiet “Amen” from the
bacon-dangler caught my attention.  He’d meant that prayer.  I felt
the rush of victory.  Yes!  I was a good parent.  Until the truth
hit me.  Who was teaching whom?  My rote words haunted me.  I’d
allowed the busyness of our morning

			Across the room,
assorted Legos and Matchbox cars littered the floor.  A Superman
cape graced the back of the sofa.  I loved this life.  Yes, we
squeezed our pennies, but I got to stay home with the boys. “Thank
you, Lord, for the gift of these boys and this season in our lives.”

			Two weeks later, we
stopped by the local farmer’s market, a favorite Saturday pastime.
The only drawback was the limited parking.  That morning, I circled
around and around the packed lot, searching for an open space.
After a few minutes, I told the boys we’d try again next weekend.
From the back seat, a small voice said, “God, please help us find a
parking space.”  Seconds later, a car pulled out.  We pulled in.
“See, Mom.”  The boys bounced out of the car, all smiles.

			They had seen a problem
and called on the One who could fix anything and watched Him do
it.  We all learned a lesson that day.  A parking space is a
small thing, but not His response.  The foundation He laid will last
			a lifetime.

			Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the privilege of prayer.  Because of
Jesus, I can come to You anytime, with anything.  Forgive me when I
take that for granted.  Nothing is too big or too small for You.
You care about every aspect of my life, and long for me to share it
with You.  Thank You for Your constant love and faithfulness.  In
			the name of Jesus.  Amen.
