Hi, '52ers!

REMINDER: The great Class of 1952 is celebrating its 55th Reunion on May 18 and 19, 2007.  Beginning this year, reunion will be held in May, instead of June, to allow the class to mingle with graduating seniors and current students.  The students will learn about the Lehigh Reunion tradition from us.  Classmates, make your plans NOW!

Frank Sgambelluri wrote our first reunion letter and said that he, President Bob McCann, Bill Smith, Ralph Fortney, and Cass Camarda are hard at work planning a wonderful reunion for our class.  Classmates will be receiving a reunion brochure and reservation form, and I strongly suggest that those who plan to attend make their arrangements as soon as possible.

A couple of vacation postcards reached my desk.  Carolyn and Dick Schmidt sent one from Maui, where the snorkeling and coral were spectacular.  The other card was from Barbara and Bill Smith, sent from Charleston, S.C., where they have a timeshare.

Mary Lou and Ed Leidheiser (Deceased) sent a newsy e‑mail outlining a three‑week trip to Africa, part of which was a 10‑day safari in Tanzania.  They said the trip to Africa was the experience of a lifetime, viewing beautiful animals and birds.  They saw lions and their cubs, wildebeests, hyenas, vultures and elephants.  They ended the trip at Victoria Falls in Zambia, where Ed said the falls were truly one of the seven wonders of the world.

For you golfers out in '52 land, I had a golf nirvana while on vacation this summer in Northern Arizona and New Mexico.  Over an eight‑day period, I shot four rounds (78, 76, 76 and 79), no doubles, averaged 30 putts a round, had 40 pars, five birdies and 27 bogies.  This will probably never happen again, but it was fun while it lasted!

I've been trying to reach Wil Wilbern through the telephone number I have on file, but without success.  If anyone in the class has spoken to him recently, please let me know.  I don't want to lose contact with him.
