50th Reunion - June 6-9
By my calculation, this column will be read less than a
month before the Big Doin's - our much anticipated 50' Reunion. I'm sure
that most who plan to attend have made their plans by now, but if any one is
undecided this late in the game, please join us in Bethlehem, June 6-9.
You will have fun and you will see how the class has held up over the past 50
years.
Christmas 2001 brought some class information by way of
Christmas cards and year-end family reports. Ceily and
Wally Field sent a great picture of Wally
and son, Ryan. Betsey and
Mayo Snyder, frequent contributors, looked healthy and happy on their
photo Christmas card. Evelyn and Allen
Levan reported their church and hospital volunteering - these folks are
always helping others.
The indefatigable
Johnstons, Mary Jo and Jim,
recount Jim's back surgery, Mary Jo's 50th reunion at Cedar Crest
and trips to Canada and Northern Europe. They returned home just two days
before the September 11 tragedy.
I'll finish this edition on a golf note. I have
been playing golf for almost 60 years, and have played many of the "name"
courses around the world; but I've never even had a "sniff" at Augusta National,
site of the Masters. Augusta is perhaps the most difficult course in the
country to "get on." However, one of our own,
Ed Leidheiser, played Augusta in October
2001 and said it was "a thrill of a lifetime." Just like the pros, Ed
found the greens large, subtle, and difficult to putt.
That's all for now. See you in June, and God Bless
America.
Editor's note: Please join your classmates at the Class
Dinner on Saturday evening to honor Cas Camarda
as he accepts the Alumni Award.
