50th Reunion - June 6-9

By my calculation, this column will be read less than a month before the Big Doin's - our much anticipated 50' Reunion.  I'm sure that most who plan to attend have made their plans by now, but if any one is undecided this late in the game, please join us in Bethlehem, June 6-9.  You will have fun and you will see how the class has held up over the past 50 years.

Christmas 2001 brought some class information by way of Christmas cards and year-end family reports.  Ceily and Wally Field sent a great picture of Wally and son, RyanBetsey and Mayo Snyder, frequent contributors, looked healthy and happy on their photo Christmas card.  Evelyn and Allen Levan reported their church and hospital volunteering - these folks are always helping others.

The indefatigable Johnstons, Mary Jo and Jim, recount Jim's back surgery, Mary Jo's 50th reunion at Cedar Crest and trips to Canada and Northern Europe.  They returned home just two days before the September 11 tragedy.

I'll finish this edition on a golf note.  I have been playing golf for almost 60 years, and have played many of the "name" courses around the world; but I've never even had a "sniff" at Augusta National, site of the Masters.  Augusta is perhaps the most difficult course in the country to "get on."  However, one of our own, Ed Leidheiser, played Augusta in October 2001 and said it was "a thrill of a lifetime."  Just like the pros, Ed found the greens large, subtle, and difficult to putt.

That's all for now. See you in June, and God Bless America.

Editor's note: Please join your classmates at the Class Dinner on Saturday evening to honor Cas Camarda as he accepts the Alumni Award.
