February 18 - Morgan Dixon, "The Rich Young Man"

Morgan Dixon was raised in Winter Park, Florida and attended Winter Park High School with her sister Randi.  She is married to a Winter Park firefighter and will be celebrating twenty (20) years of marriage this coming April.  Together, they have three (3) children, Channing 18, Addison 17, and Brody 14.

Morgan loves to sing!  Starting as a little girl singing in church, she subsequently led the national anthem at the Wide World of Sports, participated in numerous area musicals, auditioned for The Voice and American Idol, and currently sings in Asbury's Praise Band and choir.

She started working as a pre-school teacher here at Asbury and after eight (8) years, was promoted to become Director of our Early Learning Center.  Her success as an Educator / Director continues today as Asbury is currently recognized as the "Best Pre-School Program" in Maitland!

I taught preschool at Maitland Presbyterian preschool and Winter Park Presbyterian preschool and then became director at Asbury.

February 25 - Teresa Scott,
"The Woman Caught in Adultery"

I grew up in Orlando Florida.  The only time I lived away was for college at the University of Florida.

Derek and I have known each other from high school. We have been married 37 years.  We have two children, Jordan and AustinJordan is married to our wonderful daughter in law Sophia.  They have two children, James 3 years old and Hannah 1 year old.  James calls us Nana and Papa.  They are a blessing and a source of great joy in our lives.

We have attended Asbury for 23 years.

We are looking forward to retirement in the next couple of years.

March 4 - Michelle Rosario, "The Woman at the Well"

I come from a large, diverse, hardworking family that takes God and Country very seriously. I'm the oldest of 3 girls, born in Puerto Rico from a "Jabara" named Edith and Vietnam Vet turned Southern Baptist Reverend named Frank. From military to ministry, my dad became the pastor of "El Mesias" Baptist church founded by Mr. Dan Moore, in our hometown of Juana Diaz PR.

When I was 5 years old my dad heard somebody singing hymns in the children's classroom, that's how he discovered me and I've been singing for the Lord ever since. At 10 years old, I surrendered my heart to Jesus on April 8th, 1984, after one of my dad's sermons and almost 42 years later, I still believe.

After an invite from my old boss Steve Alsene back in October 2009, I attended one Sunday service and 17 years later, here I am, I never left Asbury. Right now, I'm married to Jose, we live in Davenport FL and we have 2 beautiful babies; their names are Ling & Vanilla.

Currently, at 52 y/o I'm battling ovarian cancer, while on dialysis and soon, I'll be laid off my Data Analyst job of 11 years BUT through it all, I trust my God Almighty, because no matter my ups and downs, He has never failed me.

March 11 - Kathy Peck, "The Mother of James and John"

Kathy was born in Titusville, PA and then moved and graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in PA.

She is a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College and married to Steve Peck. They share one child, Jessica.

Kathy has continued her faith journey in her adult life by serving as Lay Leader here at Asbury for multiple years and also participates on the Counting Team and Petal Pushers Team.

Kathy is on a lifetime journey to fully understand her relationship with God and how she can best represent Him to her family, her family and to her world.

March 18 - Teresa Cunningham, "Caiaphas the High Priest"

I was born in Columbus, Georgia. I attended elementary school while living in
Marianna, Florida, but moved to SW Georgia (Arlington) in the 7th grade and graduated
high school there. I graduated Grady Memorial School of Nursing in Atlanta, Ga and then went on to graduate Holston Valley Community Hospital School of Anesthesia in
Kingsport, Tenn. I practiced as a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) for 46 years and retired in 2016 here in Maitland.

I have 2 children (Rob and Tiffany) and 2 grandchildren (Gavin and Haley) as well as a very much loved son0in-law (Steve).

I accepted Christ when I was 8 years old and He has been the guiding force in my life ever since. I became a Certified Lay Speaker (now known as Lay Ministers) in 1982
while living in Albany, Georgia. I served in that capacity in Georgia, South Carolina,
Virginia, and now in Florida.

I have had a special place in my heart for missions both local and abroad since early
childhood. I once dreamed of becoming a missionary, but found God had different
plans for me. God did allow for me to serve on the first two medical mission teams
from Georgia to India and later on 7 different trips to the Dominican Republic. Although
I considered my workplace and home to be my true mission field.

At present I serve as Lay Leader and Certified Lay Minister at Asbury UMC Maitland as well as co-chair of the Alter Guild. I am program leader for my Community Group
(Dinner and a Movie - Joan Bittle leader), have taught SS, and lead Bible Study groups
at Asbury. I am active in Asbury Women in Faith and am a member of the WIF
Administrative Board as Devotional Leader. I also enjoy working with children and fill in
wherever and whenever needed with nursery and grammar school kids. One great joy
is VBS and particularly leading “Imagination Station”! I think I often have even more
fun than the kids. It truly is one of the great joys of my life.

I love my Lord and my Asbury brothers and sisters, who make it a joy to serve.

(Last minute replacement for Robbie McNabb who had to be excused due to illness.)

March 25 - John Berry, "Simon of Cyrene"

John and Sharon are active members of Georgiana Church, while also spending  time attending their 3 grandson's sporting events.  They have two grown children and three grandchildren,  Lindsay, (Jeff), with Seth 16, Nolan 13 and Levi 11.  Chris (Shayna) lives in Panama City Beach, FL.

John and Sharon are both from the Orlando area and were previously members or Asbury.  John, now retired, served as our church administrator from 2017 to January 2019. They currently live in Merritt Island.

April 1: Kitty and Chris Kovic, "Nicodemus"

Kitty and Chris Kovic have deep roots at Asbury United Methodist Church.  Kitty has been a member for most of her life, and Chris joined the church in 2006.  Fittingly, the first person Chris sat next to at a service was Kitty’s mother, Sissy Cooper—marking the beginning of a story that would bring them together.

Kitty spent nearly 30 years working in advertising at the Orlando Sentinel and has served in customer service with JetBlue for the past 11 years.  Chris dedicated 26 years of service to the Department of Defense before retiring in 2023. He is also a musician who has been playing throughout the Orlando area for more than 35 years.

They are both actively involved at Asbury, where Chris serves as the Director of Contemporary Worship, leading the band at the 9:30 service, and Kitty faithfully prepares for the weekly service by loading the computer with song lyrics, announcements, video and scripture.

The two will celebrate 15 years of marriage this June.  They have three children—Kyle, Kelli, and Ali—and are proud grandparents to Sophia, Jordan, Presley, and Walker. They live in Winter Park and enjoy traveling, music, rooting on the UCF Knights, Florida Gators, and the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team, as well as cheering on their grandchildren in all of their activities.

Lenten Gathering will be presented before a live audience in our Fellowship Hall.
A light lunch will be provided.  Seder Meal will be provided by
